1 sprig of fresh rosemary, finely minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Freshly cracked black pepper (generous amount)
Salt, to taste
All-purpose seasoning (optional)
1/3 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup Half & Half
1 tbsp cold butter
Fresh parsley, finely minced (optional)
How to Make Easy Peppercorn Sauce:
Sauté the Aromatics:
In the same pan you used to sear your steak or protein (add a little oil if needed), sauté the finely minced shallot, rosemary, and garlic over low heat. Stir frequently until they’re fragrant and softened—about 1 to 2 minutes.Season the Sauce:
Add a generous amount of freshly cracked black pepper and salt to taste. For extra flavor, you can also add a pinch of all-purpose seasoning (optional). Stir frequently to coat the aromatics in the seasoning and let the spices bloom in the warm oil.Add the Liquid:
Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Let it cook for another 1-2 minutes to reduce slightly.Create a Creamy Texture:
Stir in the Half & Half, and allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens (about 3-5 minutes).Finish the Sauce:
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cold butter until it melts and creates a silky texture. If desired, add freshly minced parsley for added color and flavor.Serve and Enjoy:
